So here we are.. we got to Leeds.. safe and sound!
Only took us like a train ride, a subway ride, a flight, a train ride, a subway ride and finally one more train ride and we were in Leeds, England, UK!
We're at Dave's now. It's been pretty good so far.. both a little messed up because of the time difference but other than that we're doing good! A little cold but alright never the less! :o)
Last night we went to Manchester to see Beecher's last gig! Narcosis and D-Rail were warming up so anybody into the UK bands can imagine what an awesome show it was! It was Beecher's finally show ever so it was pretty much the last time to see them! Trigger had seen them this summer at Ieper fest but I had never so I was pretty excited! though I think Trigger was the most excited one of all! But yeah they totally delivered! Beecher played two sets.. one where they played loads of their old stuff with their old drummer and one where they played the WHOLE new cd with their new drummer! It was crazy!
We got there early and stood in line for an hour to get.. we were one of the lucky ones cause there were like at least 60 people that were waiting in line after us that didn't even get in! and more people showed up later that were turned down at the door!
Then we drove back to Leeds and I fell asleep in the car.. I was soo tired!
Today we slept till noon cause Dave had to be at work this morning.. tonight we're going to a Humanfly practise (Dave drums in that band and they're soo freaking good!) to hear some of their new stuff and then tomorrow there a Modern life is war gig in Leeds that we're going to see! Don't know what we'll be doing tomorrow morning.. just hanging out with Dave I suppose.. enjoying the time we have with him!
On Saturday (in case I don't blog again before that) we have train tickets to London were we'll be meeting up with our favorite Scottish person in the world Paul!!! We're staying with him that night and we're both really really looking forward to seeing him! We always have the best time whenever we hangout! too bad it won't be longer cause on Saturday night Trigger and I are going to see Coheed and Cambria play with Thrice!!! we're both phsyced about that show! then on Sunday.. well on sunday we have a flight to catch once more.. this time we're heading home!

Well the day has finally come.. our last day in the states! I can't believe it's here.. that in only few hours we actually leave the U$A and head over to England to spend some time there with friends before heading to Iceland again!
We've been on the rode for almost 2 months now and still it seem to me like it was only yesterday that I spent my last night in Iceland at Kristjana's new home.. yet I know it can't be when I think of all the wonderful memories I've made in these last month and all the amazing people I've shared them with!
I feel very blessed! In these last months I have gained so many friends.. made friendships that I know will last me a life time! I'm so thankful to have met all these people but now that I'm leaving the states I must say that I'm feeling really sad.. at least while I was here you guys were only a busride away but soon the Atlantic ocean (my biggest enemy) will separate us once more.. just thinking about it makes my eyes fill with tears.. I'm going to miss you guys so much!
To Jessica, James, Shelly, Seth, Ryan, Sherri, Justin, Bill, Dan, Rachel, Sean and the rest of the wonderful people that took me in and made this trip so awesome I want to say thanks! from the bottom of my heart! I will miss you all soo much and I can't wait to have you guys over to Iceland this spring/summer! and for the few of you who aren't coming to visit (yet) I'll see you guys when I come over this summer/fall! In the meanwhile.. stay in touch!!! Send me your addresses so I can send you stuff and convince you to come to Iceland or get you more excited about coming at least! o and phonenumbers.. so I can bother you guys via phone too!
o man.. I wish I could just move you all to Iceland.. but well I guess this is the second best.. having you guys over soon! I can't wait!!!

Last weekend I went to DC with my friend Jess, another intern James and Tryggvi of course.. it was the best weekend ever! I honestly haven't had as much fun and laughed as much in sooo long!
My friend wrote a blog about it and with her permission (not really though.. hehehe..) I'm posting the weekend here seen through my friend's Jessica's eyes:

"So I had the best weekend ever! My friend Hanna (without an h at the end) and her awesome brother Trigger (ice kid) are in town visiting and everything is so much fun with the 2 of them around. but this weekend was hands down one of the best weekends i've ever had. I went to DC with Hanna, Trigger, and James and we got in on Saturday and we went straight to sticky fingers. We ate some good stuff and then found a KFC to leaflet at. Hanna made an awesome dancing chicken! after that we walked around and tried to find a place to eat (I got us lost a little) we ended up eating at this chinese place that didn't look too good but was actually great!

Saturday night we stayed at this church with some of James' friends and everyone was so nice and so welcoming and just really great. I met a ton of really awesome people!
Hanna and James played soccer with 2 other people (I can't remember any names! ) and we finally got to sleep...well nap. it was freezing and none of us brought blankets but everyone shared stuff with us which was really cool of them. the floor wasn't very comfortable either but it was a small price to pay for such a fun day and night.

On Sunday we walked around DC for a few hours. played some air sports (air soccer rules) pretty much we walked around DC looking stupid but it was way too much fun. Hanna got hurt playing air soccer though and I dont remember when this happened but at some point during the day Hanna hit Trigger in the head with a stick. He is now claiming to have head trauma. but anyway moving on. We stopped by the White House and asked George to come play kickball with us but the guy at the gate said that he was in meetings or golfing or something. I can't remember. anyway after exploring all that stuff we took a nap in the park and then we went to Sticky Fingers again to stock up and bring goodies back to some friends.

Hanna, Trigger, and myself went to pangea and got a few things (ok Hanna got like, the whole store!) but I limited myself to just a few things. including 2 bumper stickers "friends don't let friends drink milk" and "How can you be pro-LIFE and eat DEAD animals?" that was my favorite one but I gave it to a friend at work today.

hmm then we just drove around for a while, tried to figure out what we were doing, if we were waiting and having dinner with some of Hanna's friends or if we were going to leave and stop in Richmond for dinner. so we parked while we waited to hear back from Hanna's friends and took a nap in the car (oh yeah sleep!) and we ended up just picking up James from Union station (where I accidently went into the parking garage and they made us pay $6) then we pretty much got on the road and left.
We stopped in Richmond and ate dinner at Panda Veg which is a great place to eat there! vegan buffet! we all ate too much and then drove the rest of the way back home to Norfolk.

Anywho I just can't get over how much fun I had with all 3 of them. I wish Hanna and Trigger could stay forever but I guess I'll just have to go visit them in Iceland. oh ice people are so awesome! and I guess James is pretty cool too.

Ok now I'm done. back to work.

I love my friend Jess way too much! She is awesome! If you ever have the change to meet her (my Icelandic friends will when she comes over this spring) then you should definitely cause she is one of the silliest and bestest people in the world! for serious!

I was terrorizing NYC on my birthday.. just wanted to share it! :o)

Time is flying by us now.. the last weeks of our trip are upon us and the only thing we can do is to enjoy them the best we can and start looking forward to heading home!

We're in Norfolk, VA now.. took a bus down here on Sunday instead of Saturday cause we ended up missing the one on Saturday (surpriced?) but it was alright.. actually worked out better cause we got to spend more time with DanP in Jersey which we always like!
Anyways so we got to Norfolk on Sunday and my friend Jessica came and picked us up at the bus station.. it was and has been sooo great seeing her again! I can't believe how well we get along.. especially since we've spent more time apart than together for the time we have known each other! well that's what true friends are like!

But yeah we're in Norfolk.. I'm interning at PETA again and Tryggvi is volunateering for the most part while we're here.. we both like it here a lot! Especially I cause I'm seeing all these people I haven't seen in soo long and it's been great! almost everybody remembers me which I think is crazy seeing how big this organisation is and how many people intern here every year! But it's cool. It's been great seeing everybody again (well everybody that's still here) and hanging out.. we've also been hanging out with the other interns who are all very nice people and completely drama free which is a nice relief from the time when I was interning last.. hehehe..

o and before I forget.. my friend Jessica has a cell which you guys can use to get a hold on me for the next week and a half.. it's 505-681-8121 and you can call us anytime after 5:30 our time (Iceland is 4 hours ahead) cause that's when we finish work.. and we'll be staying with Jessica until the 28th so anytime between now and then if fine!

Next weekend (or tomorrow most likely) we're going to Washington DC to explore the big city! I'm really excited! Hopefully one of the intern James will join us too.. he's really cool! Such an awesome guy! like the american version of Paul from Scotland! super cool guy!
But yeah we want to go to DC and see the White house, eat at Sticky fingers (a bakary in DC that sells vegan stuff like Doughnuts.. mmmm.. can't wait!) and see our friend Ryan from Bloomington who's coming down to see his friend Orion in DC! so hopefully we'll be able to hangout with them a little!

Well this is all for now.. I'm going to KB's custard to buy some vegan ice cream with the guys and then hanging out at the Gordon house tonight (the intern house) which is always fun!

Hope you guys are enjoying life without us cause soon we'll be back and then there's no getting rid of us! well at least not yet.. hehehe..

I am soooo sorry for all those who tried to call yesterday and got the message that I was lost in NYC and nobody knew where we were! I didn't mean to worry anybody.. it was actually amazing that we managed to miss Rachel at the station.. well here's how it happened and then the story about my birthday..
Ok so Rachel decided to come with us to NYC but instead of just meeting here at Dan's house we decided to meet on the train so she didn't have to get of and then on again (she twisted her ankle really bad and is on crutches).. when we got on the train we couldn't find her though so we decided to just sit down and we'd look for her in Penn station in NYC.
When we got there we got of the train and looked around and couldn't see her anywhere! We went to the nearest pay phone and I tried calling her but it didn't work.. we called Dan but he was at work.. so we called Rachel again but for some reason it didn't work.. meanwhile Rachel was apperantly hopping around Penn station looking for us! How we missed each other is beyond me?!?
Well in the end I decided that I didn't want to spend my birthday in Penn station seeing we just thought that Rachel had missed the train and wouldn't be joining us.. we got a subway map and some credit on our subway card and tried to figure out the subway system by ourselves.. we went to the Canal st and then tried calling Rachel again.. it didn't work so we walked around Chinatown and to Brooklyn bridge cause it was my birthday and I really really wanted to see it and walk across it! and we did just that! Then we took the subway to Empire state building and I manage to trick Trigger into going to the observatory with me and have a look at New York from above! The weather was sooo nice and it was a clear day so we could see so far! It was amazing! o and we also saw a famous person! Biran Krause! He's the guy that playes Leo in Charmed! you know the show with the three witches and all.. well anyway it used to be the show Trigger and I never missed and always watched together so seeing him there in the elevator going up to Empire state building was pretty funny to us! hehehe..
but yeah then after exploring the deck and NYC we went and decided to walk all the way down to Red bamboo which is mine and Trigger's favorite vegan restaurant in NYC! we made a "tiny" stop on the way.. hehehe.. I hopped into Victoria's secret and got myself a little birthday present from me to me.. they had a sale going on so I ended up spending a lot more than I planned to begin with but hey how often do you get an opportunity like this when you live in Iceland! never! so I ended up with a couble of bras, something to sleep in and something special for me and my future someone.. hehe.. all very nice!
Then we kept walking down 5th street until we got to Washington square (where the fight scene in Kids was filmed at mind you!) there we saw some Icelanders walking past us.. hehe.. that was funny!
Then we ate at Red bamboo (soooo good!) where my wonderful sister payed for my dinner even though she was in a whole other country and Trigger sand happy birthday to me! Then we hopped back on the subway to Penn station, saw a rat (finally!) on the trian tracks and took the train back to New Brunswick!
Overall it was a really really great day! we had so much fun together just hanging out Tryggvi and I! I'm really happy that I got to spend my day just with him and even happier when I think about how we've been traveling for 5 weeks now and we still have so much fun together! I'm really lucky to have a kid brother like him!
O and before I forget thanks so much for all the emails, phonecalls (even though I didn't get them seeing I didn't hangout with Rachel after all), messages, comments here and on my myspace site.. It really made me happy that so many remembered my birthday and took the time to wish me happy birthday! thanks you guys! You are the best!
Well I better be off.. I have to grab a shower and then Tryggvi and I are heading to Trenton to meet up with Rachel and then we're going to Philly in PA! pretty excited about that! o so if you want to try again calling I promise I'll be hanging out with Rachel today! I'll be meeting her probably around 1 or 2 pm our time and we'll be hanging out until late tonight so if you want you can call today! I promise I'll be there with her! so please please try again!

Hey so tomorrow the 12th of January is my birthday.. I'm turning 24! I almost can't believe it.. when was I 23 or 22 or even 21.. time is really flying by fast! Well I guess I've done a lot in the past year so it's not like I'm wasting my time doing nothing or anything like that.. still feels wierd how fast time seems to be going! Seems to me that time actually moves faster the older you get.. anybody agree with me here?
But yeah the reason I'm posting this is because there might be certain someones out there that really want to call me on my birthday and so I'm leaving my friend's number here in case.. her name is Rachel and she'll be hanging out with us all day so you can call anytime after 10:30 am our time (we're meeting her at that time).. we'll be exploring a little bit more of NYC with her that day and that night we'll be having dinner with her and maybe a few more friends! Yay! we made it!
The 17 hour greyhound ride is over and we're in New Brunswick, NJ at Dan's place once again!
The ride went amazingly well compared to.. well everything. It was hard for us both to say goodbye to Ryan in Indianapolis.. he really didn't want us to leave and apart of us just wanted to stay in that little town with him and Sherri forever! but all good things must come to an end plus Ryan is coming to Iceland soon and we'll be seeing him in Bloomington (at least I will) by the summer so.. even though it was hard saying goodbye it felt good to know we had had this time together and there was plenty more to come now that we were all so close!
We left Indianapolis at 12:40 am so we both either slept or were half asleep for the first 8 or 9 hours of the trip.. there were some stops made in the middle of the night were everybody had to get of the bus so it was basicly naptime for like 2 hours then a stop so we went out to stretched our legs then back on the bus and sleep some more and so on.. then when we got too tired of sitting and sleeping we both read loads.. yes that's right.. both of us! Even Tryggvi is reading a book! amazing! Bill recommended to us to read this book called Choke by the same guy that wrote Fight club and Tryggvi is reading that now and I'm going to read it when he's done because I'm almost finished with Harry Potter..
but yeah that was our busride.. we didn't really try to keep to ourselves but in the end I guess it just turned out that way.. the only really interesting people on the bus was the "parents" as we called them.. two people my age that had two babies and were traveling from Indianapolis to NYC.. other than that the bus was full of the wierdest bunch of people I've ever seen! hehehe..
But like I said it's over and we're at Dan's now! He came and picked us up at Newark and then we met up with Rachel and her husband Sean and made dinner together and watched an old Miyashaki movie.. he's one of my favorite directors and I hadn't seen this movie so it was nice even though I did fall asleep the last 30 minutes or so..
O yeah b.t.w. we got tickets back home to Iceland finally! so yeah we're coming home! hehehe.. iceland express had one of their sale going on so I woke up at 4 am (not something I was glad to do) and bought to tickets for us from London to Iceland the 5th of Feburary! so there you have it. the date we'll be returning to Iceland! I'm sure there are a few that will be glad now that we have a certain date.. hehehe.. just gotta make sure we don't miss our flight ;o)

So tonight we have a 17 hour ride on a greyhound ahead of us.. We've finally managed to find a way to leave this magical punk town in the middle of Indiana.. we're coming back here.. soon! I'm thinking late summer.. early fall! definitely!
But so tonight we'll be heading from Indiana to the great New Jersey again.. we're both not really looking forward to this trip mainly because it will take waaaay too long and both Trigger and I are excited about having to sit still on a bus for all that time.. but well it will be an experience since we've only once been on a greyhound before and that was from Chicago to Indianapolis a week ago but that was only like 3 hours so even though it was interesting in a way it wont be anything compared to the trip tonight.. I guess if you are traveling in the states this is something you really have to experience at least once.. it's the ultimate of the ultimate.. the greyhound!
Yesterday was a pretty nice day and night.. we hungout in Bloomington during the day cause the weather was sooo nice! like really sunny and warm! not like January at all! felt like the same as late May in Iceland actually! really nice!
Then last night Ryan went with his friend to Lexington but we stayed behind and went with Sherri, BZ and Marty (BZ's boyfriend) to go midnight hiking! It was waaaay awesome! We all put on our hiking boots.. well I only had converse so.. hey they're made for climbing right!?! hehehe.. well we all got our "hiking" stuff and some flashlights and left probably around 10sh from Ryan's and Sherri's place.. we headed out of town to explore the surroundings of Bloomington which are I might say pretty cool! Marty had lived here is whole life so he knew exactly where to take us and all.. it was really awesome and plus it was a pretty warm night so we ended up not coming back until around 2sh! all pretty exhausted after all the hiking! plus we had found this really really cool playground for kids that is probably opening soon but we snuck in there and played in this really huge castle that they had made with these really aweome slides! It was pretty wicked! We had the best time hanging out with the guys last night!
We didn't really wake up early this morning but early enough so we'll be well tired for the bus ride tonight.. our bus leaves at 12:40 am.. and we should be getting into Newark at 6 pm.. I'm not excited about it but I am excited about seeing my friends in NJ again so I guess I just have to suck it in..
well wish us luck on our trip on the greyhound!

So there was another change in our plans..
On Friday we went hiking with Ryan.. We went to this really tall fire tower and climbed to the top.. it was amazing the view from up there! Then we took a long walk in the woods around the tower to explored the nature in Indiana sort of speak.. hehehe..
After the hike there was a show in Hannah's and Mike's basement so we went there.. it was a really great show plus we had been meeting a lot of people in the last few days so there were a lot of people at the show that we had either met at least once or twice and others that we had hungout a lot more with.. there were three bands playing but we only cought two cause we had gone to dinner at this nice Indian restaurant before the show with Ryan, Sherri and one of Ryan's friend.. the bands were good and the people at the show were all really nice to us so we felt at home! Well we felt so at home that we didn't want to leave this town just yet.. so..
We didn't!
We're still in Bloomington!
We decided to stay an extra 3 days seeing that Ryan doesn't want us to leave ever.. hehehe.. I think if it were up to him he'd make us move in with them! hehehe.. but so yeah we really like it here and hanging out with Ryan and Sherri and just all these punk kids has been so much fun that we don't want to leave.. at least not yet.. we've decided to stay until Monday night.. we're taking the greyhound that should leave Indianapolis around midnight and we should be getting into Newark, NJ around 6 pm on Tuesday..
but for now it's Bloomington, Indiana!

We found it! the dream town of any punk kid! It's in Indiana and it's awesome! they have it all.. small independent record stores that sell their stuff as cheap as possible and bookstore with zines and crimethink books.. they have nice coffee houses and good health food stores.. they have a good scene with nice people and good bands.. it's sooo cheap to rent here and live..
what more could a punk kid such as myself ask for?!?
I don't want to leave.. serioucly.. and the guys don't want us to leave so it works out fine! I'm staying you guys.. if you want to see me you'll have to find me in Bloomington, Indiana! I'll send you the address when I find a place to rent and such.. have a great year cause I won't be coming back!

no I'm just kidding.. though I really wish I was staying here.. I really like it! We've been staying with our friend Ryan and his roommate and band member Sherri that we also met when their band Defiance, Ohio came in April and played in Iceland.. they have been super nice to us and we've really enjoyed being here in this sweet little town of theirs!
They (Ryan and Sherri) are opening a record store here right beneath the appartment they're renting and we've helped a little out with that plus we had the privilege to be their first ever costumers but mainly we've just had a good time cooking dinner and eating together, seeing the rest of the Defiance, Ohio crew and exploring this punk town!
Tonight there's a show in town that we're going to and then tomorrow we are leaving Bloomington (buhuhuhu!).. We have the longest busride ever ahead of us! We're taking a greyhound from Indianapolis, Indiana to Newark, New Jersey! It will take about 18 hours sooo not looking forward to that! still it's the cheapest way to travel and we both are running out of money so it will have to do!
We should be in New Jersey at 10:40 on Sunday morning and Dan (of course who else is that incredibly nice to us!) is picking us up! Unfortunately there is no room for us to stay at his house at the moment so we'll be heading down to Pennsylvania to stay with our friend Rachel there! It's cool cause Dan is going to hangout with us as much as he can and we'll get to explore some of Pennsylvania while we're at it! Then the plan is to see if we can't stay with my friend Lia in NYC before heading on yet another bus to Norfolk, Virgina! I really want to try to get some people out to dinner on my birthday which is only in a week now so if you live in the New Jersey area please join me for dinner the 12th of January! pretty please!

So here we are.. back in Chicago once more.. but this time not for long since we're leaving today.. actually in like 4 hours!
We got back from Galesburg last night and we spent the night on Seth's and Mishelle's floor.. it was fun! we really like them!
New Years was spent in Galesburg, IL of all places.. the plan of heading to NY to spend the New years there on times square fell apart after we missed our flight back to NJ.. hehehe.. we weren't bummed about it.. we got to spend more alone time with Shelly in Chicago and then we heading down to Galesburg to meet up with Bill and Seth and the others down there!
Bill had a party on New years in his huge basement and all the people we had been meeting while we were there showed up, some that we had only met once or twice but some that we had been hanging out with while we were there, which was pretty cool! We knew everybody at the party and both had a really great time! It was a pretty fun night! it was no times square obviously but that will just have to wait another time!
But yeah so now we're back in chicago and today were heading to Indiana.. not somewhere we planned on going the first place but we met up with our friend Ryan since we missed our flight and he really wants us to come hangout with him in his home town Bloomington.. he came over to Iceland with his band Defiance, Ohio in April last year and we hungout with him and the rest of the defiance, ohio crew then.. they all (except one) live in Bloomington so we're going to go down there and hangout with them for a few days.. well at least until saturday but then we're heading to NJ probably in a Greyhound (it will take FOREVER!!!) to spend more time with our very own DanP and Rachel and the others there! see more of Pennsylvania and NYC!
Well this is all for now.. I have to go take a shower and get ready and stuff.. just wanted to let you guys know what's going on with us.. what the plans are and such..

So after giving it a lot of thought we decided since we missed our flight to just enjoy more of IL and not leave just yet.. meaning we're staying here for New Years! We'll be driving down to Galesburg tonight or tomorrow with Mishelle to meet up with Billy and Seth and the others..
Trigger is really happy about the whole thing seeing he was never as excited about the whole NYC times square as I was.. but hey I'll just do that another time I guess.. I'm happy spending more time here.. We've made some really good friends here like Seth and Mishelle so it will be really cool to hangout more with them! plus both of them seem to be real happy that we are staying so that's awesome!
just hope Vicky and Ed don't mind us coming again..

Yesterday we spent with Mishelle.. she had a day off so we ended up doing some shopping.. we went to Victoria sectret to get some fancy underwear while Trigger got hit on by malrats.. hehehe.. we also met up with our friend Ryan who was passing through Chicago on his way home to Indiana.. He came over with his band Defiance, Ohio in April and we got to know him then.. well we met up with him and his 2 friends and we all had lunch together.. Ryan really wants us to come to Indiana after new years and hangout with him and the rest of the Defiance, Ohio crew.. we're pretty excited about doing that before heading east again so we probably will.. but for now it's IL for us!

I'm going to post the pictures of the new tattoos here so you can get a closer look on them.. mamma og pabbi ekki verda reid.. hehehe.. they really look good and we're both really happy with them!

This is mine.. it's Iceland for those who don't already know that.. hehehe.. and the words are those of an Icelandic hardcore band called I adapt.. these are the words that I really care about.. both the meaning behind them and also the memories I have that involve them.. the Icelandic hardcore scene.. the kids.. being at shows and singing at the top of my lungs.. It means the world to me!

Well there you have it.. this is what's new with you.. a little change of plans.. havn't decided already where and when we're heading east exactly but we'll let you know! we're in no hurry so we're just enjoying the time we have with the guys here while we can! WE MISSED OUR FLIGHT!!!
Yes that's right.. we managed to miss the flight we had sceduled from Chicago, IL to Newark, NJ yesterday!
It was actually just funny and nothing else! We didn't lose any money really.. the ticket was only like 70$ or 4000 icelandic kronur so that didn't really bother us.. the only thing was that we had plans with our friend DanP that night and it sucked not being able to hangout with him! but hey we got to hangout more with Mishelle in Chicago...

Ok so seeing that the 26th was going to be our last day in Galesbug we decided to make the most of it and headed into town to meet up with jimmy (bill's tattoo artist) who was just in town! he had moved to Oregon like a month ago and was just back to hangout with Bill and tattoo him and some other people including us! yes we both (trigger too) got new tattoos done! We'll put pictures up on the photobucket site later..
after hanging out with jimmy we went back to bill's house and hungout there.. Seth, Mishelle, Kara and Jimmy came over a little later and Jimmy did the second tattoo on Trigger while the rest of us played poker.. it was really funny until we played black jack and I played the dealer.. I was really good at it and Bill was all mad cause he kept losing and started calling me all these names.. so note to our friends that know bill.. don't play poker or black jack with him.. he gets really mean!
but yeah Jimmy finished trigger around 4 am so everybody took off except Seth.. Trigger fell asleep soon after but Bill and Seth decided to taech me Risk.. yes the board game! hehehe..
We played Risk until 7 in the morning.. I did really good I think.. well enough so the guys enjoyed playing with me! hehehe.. i loved it tough.. Risk is my new fav game.. I know I'm a total nerd! ;o)
We took a 3 hour nap and then started getting ready for the 3 hour drive to Chicago with Mishelle.. we said goodbye to Bill's family and then Seth's family and headed on our way.. the drive was actually loads of fun! Mishelle is fantastic and we get along sooo well! We talked to whole way back to Chicago!
We got to the airport on time and had at least like 2 hours to our flight so we went to check us in and then we found out that our flight was actually the 26th not the 27th! imagine that! we missed our flight by 24 hours! hehehehe..
So here we are.. still in Chicago at Mishelle's place!
We talked about it last night.. what we should do.. the plan was to go back to NJ and then from there to PA to stay with Rachel and stay there over New Years but last night we decided to change our plans.. we have decided to stay with Mishelle in Chicago the next days and then on Thursday night or Friday we're going to head to Galesburg again and hangout there over New years! We really like the people here so we want to spend more time with them seeing we can!
so there you have it.. a little change of our plans.. we're going to talk about it today when we're going to leave chicago exactly and where we'll be heading after this.. we have some ideas but we have to talk to our friends first.. we'll let you know! :o)

Before I say anything else I want to say this:
Merry Christmas to you all!
These last few days have been sooo great! Trigger and I have been lucky enough to spend the holidays with my friend Bill and his family in IL! They have been super nice and just done everything to make us feel welcome and wanted!
I’ll admit that yesterday was really hard for me.. especially the morning and around noon.. I knew that by that time everybody at home would be getting ready for Christmas (there’s a 6 hour time difference between here and Iceland) and it felt so weird not to be doing exactly that! Kristjana called around 11 and I miss her a lot.. she’s also going through a really hard time right now and it breaks my heart not being able to be there for her so that was really hard.. then just half an hour after she had called mom&dad called and anybody that knows me really well can understand why that was really hard too.. after talking to them I was really confused and I felt really sad and homesick too.. I really wanted to talk to someone but Trigger had been in a kind of ill mood these last days and I was kind of waiting for him to want to talk about it and didn’t want to force my thoughts on him so you know I felt a little alone.. I kept thinking about my friends back home and just missing them terribly.. in the end though Bill and I went to town together and we had a really good talk.. plus we went to see Bill’s other family.. the family that probably had the most saying in how Bill is today.. Seth’s family.. The Seth we stayed with in Chicago.. both him and his family are super cool so after all that and just spending time with Bill I felt loads better! Then when we got back Trigger had a really good talk to me and we finally sorted out those things that had been bothering him.. so after that I felt even better!
O and guess what we did on Thorlaksmessa (the 23rd).. we went on a road trip with Bill and his friend Matt (who btw can play Sleep terror on his guitar! I’ve seen it and let me tell you it is crazy!) to get Seth in Chicago! After that we all headed to a place called Hillside (a Chicago suburb) to see this band called Hewhocorrupts.. they were really really good! Plus the 5 of us had such an amazing time together! Both Seth and Matt are so awesome! We had plenty of time to hangout cause the band we wanted to see didn’t play until like 4 hours after we arrived at the venue! Kind of a bummer but we had a blast so it was all right! On the way home I was in front with Seth keeping him awake through the night cause we were driving back from the venue at around 3 am and it takes around 3 hours to get from there to Bill’s house! It was great though cause Seth is like way nice and cool so it was great getting the opportunity to talk to him a little one on one! Yes that was a really good night!
Then last night (the 24th) we went to see Vicky’s brother.. there was a little family get together there and both Trigger and I ended up having a lot more fun there than we thought we would! Bill’s family is really nice! It was really great seeing Bill around his family too.. both this one and Seth’s.. finally you start to get some of the jokes that he makes and you see from where he picks up all these things! Hehehe..
Well then after the “party” we went to the airport to pick up Bill’s brother Anthony or Tai for short who is also home for the holidays.. we drove back home all 6 of us and ended just talking and then playing poker and having so much fun! Well until 2 am cause then we all had to holler ass to bed cause next morning would be Christmas morning and some people hadn’t even finished their wrappings.. hehehe..
Then this morning we were woken up at 8:30 cause there was some serious package opening starting.. hehehe.. Vicky had obviously gone all out again to make us feel welcome cause both Trigger and I got tons of presents! She had made us stockings (yes MADE us stockings!) and Santa had left us both loads of little presents! We also got loads of presents from under the spinning Christmas tree (Yes SPINNING Christmas tree!) that were from Vicky and Ed even though they just wrote from Santa on all of them! Hehehe.. We got sooo much! It was crazy! Then after all the opening everybody helped out cleaning the house cause there was a family get together here at 2.. the family having early dinner together.. I made nut loaf, with the help of Trigger of course, that ended up being really really good! Mmm..
The family arrived around 2 and then everybody ate and then ate some more.. hehehe.. mmm.. it’s now around 11 and the last guests just left! It was crazy cause even though usually these family things just make me feel uncomfortable and that’s with my own family.. well not my mom’s side but my dad’s.. but today was actually really nice! I had loads of fun talking to all of them and getting to know them better!
Tomorrow is our last whole day here.. it’s kind of sad cause both Trigger and I really like it here and plus it’s been sooo great hanging out with Bill again so we both are not looking forward to say goodbye to him at all! It’s going to be well hard! But it has to be done cause on Tuesday Bill’s driving us up to Chicago to the airport cause we’re heading to DanP in NJ.. again!! We’re excited about seeing him again and the people there that we started to get to know and just hangout more! We’re going to be there for a couple of nights and then we’re heading to PA to spend a week or so at Rachel’s! That will be exciting!
Well I hope you guys are having the BEST Christmas all of you! I miss you all and I’m thinking about all of you and just really hoping you guys are enjoying the holidays the best you can!

Hey you guys
Sorry about not blogging for awhile.. been a little busy with Trigger meeting up with friends, getting to know new people and just exploring more of the states!
I’ll try to write about the stuff we’ve been doing in the past week.. not sure if I’ll remember everything cause it’s been awhile but just bare with me..
Ok so we stayed with DanP in New Brunswick until the 18th.. we used the time to explore around NJ/NY.. went to NYC to hangout with my very awesome friend LiaB.. she had the day off from work and was nice enough to use it to show us around the city.. we went to Times square, Rockefeller center and walked around all of Manhattan.. no maybe not but we did walk around a lot that day.. then after walking around we had dinner the three of us at the Red bamboo which is fast becoming our favorite restaurant.. the food was just as good as before and we ate way too much! Then we went with Lia to her place in Hoboken, NJ which is just a 15 minute drive on the path (a train).. she was giving away some clothes and she let me go through them.. I found a new pair of pants and some t-shirts and stuff which was great cause I can’t really afford to buy too much here but I’m also sort on cloths so that was really sweet of her! Yes we had a great day with her!
The next few days we spent the days exploring New Brunswick and Princeton during the day cause Dan had to work and then during the nights we either hangout at his place with him and his roommates who are probably one of the best people I’ve met in my life! Or we went out with few of his friends.. well either way just tried to spend as much time with Dan cause he’s such a great friend of ours and we wanted to use the time we had with him seeing we don’t get to hangout as much as we’d like!
On Friday we went to see my favorite NJ band.. well just one of my favorite bands really.. they’re called Make me and Dan introduced them to me when he was in Iceland.. I really really like them so I was really stoked about seeing them play live.. and man did they deliver! Their show was sooo good.. everybody just singing along and enjoying themselves.. so much fun! Plus the guys were really really nice too! We talked a lot to them and spent the night trying to convince them to come to Iceland! Hehehe.. well Danny the singer is probably coming to Iceland but just to explore it himself but not to play but still he’s ace so it will be great having him over!
On Saturday Dan had the day off so we went to NYC again and walked around more.. we went to Times square again but this time during the evening which was so weird cause it looked so different from when we saw it with Lia.. we also went to Central Park and to the Met (a museum).. then we headed back to NJ cause Dan wanted to take us to a diner.. seeing NJ is the diner state.. hehehe.. it was certainly an experience to eat there!
On Sunday the 18th we had to cacth a flight to Chicago at 4 so Dan, Rachel and Danny (the singer in Make me) all went with us to this Indian place to have lunch before our flight.. we had a great time there.. Dan is getting ready to move to India in June so he felt he should try to eat like Indians to and order his food “as hot as hell”.. hehehe.. it was sooo funny to see him sweating but still trying to finish his food.. hehehe.. he did it though so thumbs up for him! You’ll do great in India Dan! We have faith in you! <3
The flight to Chicago was good.. we both slept through most of it.. then we waited for Seth and Mishelle (Bill’s friend) to come pick us up.. when they came they had the cutest sign for us! O and a pleasant surprise too! Bill was with them!!! He was suppose to come the day after us but he arrived the same day and they had picked him up earlier! It was so great seeing him again! We both had missed him!
We spent the next two days in Chicago.. Mishelle had the day off the next day so she was kind enough to use her day off to show us around.. we went to Metal haven (one of the best metal record stores in the states) and to Reckless records (a great record store too!).. Trigger bought sooo much stuff! Hehehe.. then we decided to head to Sears tower and go to the top! It was crazy! Sears tower is the tallest building in the world and we went to the 103 floor! We got a great view of the city and just had a blast up there!
It was kind of sad to have to say goodbye to Mishelle and Seth.. especially for me to say goodbye to Mishelle! She is one of the sweetest girl I’ve met in awhile and we got along really really well! Hopefully we’ll see her again sometime over Christmas and she might be coming to Iceland in April too! I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
But yeah this has been our trip so far.. last night we drove down south from Chicago and met up with Bill’s mom Vicky and his step dad Ed.. they have been really nice to us and really made us feel welcome here in their o so Christmassy house! Serioucly though.. never seen a house this Christmassy! It’s nice though.. I like it.. it’s getting me in the Christmas mood finally! It’s been really weird for me especially not doing the things I usually do around this time a year.. I’ve not been baking, buying and wrapping presents, decorating, writing Christmas cards or anything really.. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I miss it.. but well I wanted to try something new and so far it’s been a blast! I’m having fun even though I have to say that I’m starting to miss some people back home a little.. been cheating a little and buying some presents.. not sure if I’m sending them all back home.. been posting some but some might just have to wait until I get back! Just to get you guys excited! ;o)
Well this will do for now.. been quite a long one.. but well I had a lot to tell you guys and I wanted to make sure that you were up to date on what’s going on with us! Have had some messages and emails telling me to sit my ass down and get down to some serious blogging.. hehehe.. but well I’ve done that now so..
I miss you guys loads! We both do!
Have a happy holiday! I’ll definitely but up another blog before Christmas but I still wanted to remind you all to make sure you don’t get caught in the stress that sometimes surrounds this time of year and rather leave things out so you can really enjoy this wonderful holiday! O and remember.. be thankful for all the wonderful and amazing people in your life that you are lucky enough to have around you! I know I am!

I really think I'm doing an excellent job blogging here.. my third blog since we left and we have not even been gone a week!
Well I guess that's good though.. feels good to keep you uppdated seeing that I haven't got the time to email everybody and all.. o well if you get bored with my blogs you could always not read them so...
but yeah so the other day Dan told us he had a surprise for us two.. he was pretty excited about it so you can imagine how excited we were! We went to Whole foods (a huge organic supermarket for those of you who don't know) which was pretty neat cause I had never been into one and had promised myself to see one when I came over! Yeah I know these things excite me.. big deal.. you wanna fight about it? hehehe..
Well after Whole foods we went back to Dan's place to wait for Rachel to show up! It was sooo great seeing her again! She's one of the people that came over to Iceland in August with Dan.. we are good friends so seeing her again was awesome!
Then the four of us headed for NY to see our surprise! We went to this place called th Knitting factory which is a place that puts on gigs here and saw that our surprise was a Strike anywhere concert!!! Strike anywhere is only one of my top 10 bands of all time and seeing them live was something I've always wanted to do! You guys can imagine how happy Trigger and I were when we found out about our surprise!
The show was awesome too! Eric the drummer from Strike anywhere came to Iceland last January with his friend Nathan and Kolli and I showed them around Reykjavik and stuff so I was excited about seeing him again! He was really surprised to see me too! hehehe.. but it was great and we talked a lot and decided to hangout more when Trigger and I go down to VA in January! I'm already looking forward to it!
I also got to talk to Thomas the singer in Strike which mind you was pretty cool to me seeing I've adored this mans vocals for such a long time! I was gonna get my stuff from the distro table after Strike had played and saw that Thomas was the only one selling their sutff and there were like LOADS of kids trying to buy stuff from him so I poked him and asked if he needed a hand and of course he just said yes please! So I helped him out and had a great time doing so! when everybody was gone and we had sold loads of stuff we talked a little.. he was just like sooo grateful for the help and I was just happy to have helped! plus I'm kind of a nerd so helping out and seeing Eric again was probably just almost exciting as seeing them play! hehehe.. no maybe not cause there show was just SO freaking awesome!
Yeah that was a pretty good night.. we ended up going the four of us plus this girl that Dan knows to Red bamboo again (the vegan place I told you guys about) and having the BEST dinner I think I have ever had! Buffalo wings in barbecue sause, chicken with parmesan and this delicous chocolate macarone cake for desert! all vegan of course and soooo good!
ahh yes it was such a great night! I have a hard time imagineing anything topping saturday but then again we have only been here for few days and there is soo much to see and do so you never know!
Well I'm off to enjoy some of that vegan carrot cake we bought yesterday so I'm signing off for now!

Sooooo...
Here we are! in the states!!!
Yes we just got here last night to NY city and woke up this morning in New Brunswick, NJ! crazy really!
Yesterday was the longest day of our life! We woke up in London in Paul's room and got ready for the flight.. then we went with Paul to Angel to have lunch at the Indian Veg which is one of the best and cheapest vegan restaurant in London! sooo good! After eating ourselves full we said our goodbyes to Paul (it was teary mind you) and headed on our way to the airport. Our flight wasn't until 5 so we were in no hurry and arrived at the airport long before our flight.. had a good hour and a half to kill before our flight which was mainly just spent listening to music, reading Harry Potter (I started the fifth book) and talking together.
The weather was a little crazy so when we finally boarded the plane we had to wait in there for almost 50 minutes before taking off.. which would have been ok if we wouldn't have a 8 hour flight adead of us.. hehehe.. trigger was getting bored even before we took off! hehehe..
The flight was all right though.. it was long but we slept a little, talked a lot, I read and then they were showing some good movies so that killed some time.. I watched Wallance and Grommit.. it's sooo good!
We arrived in NY at 9 pm local time but 2 am london time so we were pretty tired! Dan and his friend came to pick us up though and we headed straight to this vegan restaurant called the red bamboo.. I've heard stories about that place so I was pretty excited.. and I have to say that it did deliever.. the food there was soooo good mind you! I had "fish and chips".. the fish being made out of soy and completely vegan.. mmmm.. and then after eating Ryan (Dan's friend) was the sweetest and paid for the whole meal! so nice of her!
We saw a bit of NY last night after dinner.. it's amazing I tell you.. Dan drove around showing us Empire state building and a little bit of NY.. pretty neat being here but still kind of sureal.. seeing I've been planing this trip for such a long time!
Today we're heading for NY again.. we're meeting our friend Rachel around 3 and she's coming with us.. Dan has a surprice for us.. I'm really excited! but then again I'm excited about everything right now.. hehehe.. just being here and seeing Dan again is almost too good to be true! can't wait to see Rachel and then maybe Lia as well! ahhh life is good!
Well this will be all for now.. just wanted to let you guys know that everything is going well and we're having the BEST time.. even though we are a little tierd from jumping from one continental to another.. heheh.. but I guess that will pass in few days!

hello hello hello
So here I am again.. doing this one more time.. I can't believe that I'm on the road again.. for like the third time this year.. seems like I've been spending the better half of the year traveling really.. well at least the second half.. feels good mind you though!
I have a partner this time a little closer to me than the before.. I talked my brother Trigger into going with me so for the next couple of months we'll be traveling together.. exploring new things and just having a blast together like we always have when we hangout!
We left Iceland yesterday.. flew from Keflavik airport to Stansted airport in England.. everything went really well.. and we were in london in no time and without much effort. I've been here so often that now it just feels like coming home whenever I come over! this is my 11th time in London so I've gotten used to things and sorta know what everything is all about.. no worries here!
We're staying with our friend Paul here in London.. he's been ace like he always is! having the best time seeing him again! we did a little sight seeing today.. Paul hasn't explored a lot in London (he's from Scotland) and I always said I'd show him around the next time I'd come over! hehehe.. so today we did a bit of that then Trigger and I decided to take a trip down to Brighton to check out this awesome band that was going to be playing there called Hella.. we took a train down which took about an hour and then walked in the pouring rain around Brighton trying to find the place the gig was supposed to be at.. we asked a bunch of people and finally found a person that could help us out.. but not before trigger had been hit by a flying egg! hehehe.. there we were just minding our own business when this guy threw an egg at us when he drow past us! it was so random that trigger and I couldn't help but to laugh! hehehe.. but yeah then we finally found the place that the ledengary gig was supposed to be at only to find out that it had been cancelled! hehehehe.. it was sooo funny! what a rotten night you might be thinking to yourself.. but I'll tell you we had the BESTEST time! yes it was a bummer spending all that money on a traintickets and all and being soaked and then get an egg thrown at us but hey! it just made us laugh! hehehehehe.. we weren't bothered to think about it but just decided, after finding out that we couldn't even meet up with our friend Keg that lives there, to take the next train back to london to see Paul again!
sooo now here we are.. both pretty tierd.. well Trigger is actually fallen asleep but I have to keep awake cause Paul had to work tonight and I have to stay up to let him in when he finishes.. which should be like ages ago but anywho..
tomorrow we'll be doing a little more sight seeing with Paul in London and just enjoying the time we have here with him! he's on of the best people we know and it sucks that we don't get to see him more but well we'll see him now and then on our way back as well! yes there's always plenty of good times going on Friday we head over to the states! heading for NY and we'll be arriving there around 8.. Dan, our kick ass friend in NJ, is picking us up and taking us straight to the best vegan place in NY! he has plenty of things planned for us and we're sooo excited about that.. though we're mostly just excited about seeing him again and hanging out with him!
well this is all for us for now.. plenty of action on the first 2 days of our around 60 day trip! Paul just got back from work so I'm going to hangout a bit with him before heading to bed!
I'll be writing about our trip here like I did with my Europe trip this summer so please feel free to read about it and please comment and stay in touch if you can! that would awesome!

Soooooooo...
I havn´t blogged here in a while.. like more than a week or something.. well I guess I´ll try my best to update you guys now..

Ok we ended up having such a wonderful time in Italy! We stayed in Florenze for one or two more nights (I can´t remember when I blogged last exactly) and even took a daytrip to a small nearby town called Fiesole in which you could look down and see all of Florenze! I took loads of pictures and I´ll put then up when I finish this..
anyway..
then we went from there to Livorno which is a small but o so beautiful beach "city" near Pisa.. we spent three nights there in this wonderful hostel about 45 minute walk from the beach or anything but a nice walk so we didn´t mind and walked back and forth at least twice a day.. I spent a lot of the time at the beach enjoy the sea and the sounds.. I hadn´t been on a beach since I went to Rimini (also in Italy) in 2003 so being next to the sea again was just so wonderful for me and I enjoyed every minute of it!

When we then flew from Pisa on the 12th to Bristol (UK of course) me and Viktor ended up splitting up just after we arrived.. he wanted to go to London and see if he could head on home to Iceland and I wanted to go meet two girls I just gotten to know up in Lancaster/Preston.. plus we had been traveling for 3 weeks together so it was about time we headed on our own I think..

I took a train from Bristol to Lancaster and even though it ended up being REALLY expensive for me to go up there to spend those 3 nights there I have to say that it was totally worth it! I had one of the bestest time of my life just hanging out with the two girls, Sarah and Caitlin, who live there!
They showed me around Lancaster and Preston but we could have just done nothing at all cause just being around them, talking and hanging out, was just as much fun!
It really is amazing to think of how well we got along with each other and how much fun we really had together considering that we had really just "met" and only spoken through emails, MSN messager, text messages and phone! but even so as soon as I stept off the train and saw them waiting for me I just felt like I was meting up with old friends again!
I even got to spend a little alone time with both of them and that was even better! The only thing that kept me from crying when I had to say goodbye to them was that I had already made up my mind to come see them again in beginning of September and spend even more time with them then! Yay!

So where am I now you might be asking.. well I´m not where I said I would be.. no I´m actually somewhere I didn´t think I´d be for a least couple of weeks..
yes I´m back home in Iceland!
It ended up being so difficult for me to orginize going down to the southcoast UK to meet up with friends there (everybody telling me to talk to somebody else.. hehe..) that I decided that I really missed my family and friends back home and plus I had made a promise to go to my oldest and one of my dearest friend´s wedding this weekend (even if I had already told her that I wouldn´t be coming) and when I thought about not being there to witness the thing we talked about SO often when we were younger.. well I just really really wanted to be there! so I called my airline company and changed the ticket back home to the 15th of July and got on a train/tube/train/plane back home!
It was also my kid brother´s 17th birthday the 15th and the family managed to not tell him I was coming so he was a "little" suprised to come home after work and seeing me shouting "suprise!" hehe.. he was really happy though cause he really had NO idea! hehe..
and plus the look on my friend´s face when she was walking down the aile and saw me standing there was PRICEless! she was so beautiful and so happy I was there (I hadn´t told her I was coming back) which made me so extremly happy that I started to cry and kept on going throughout the wedding! hey what can I say.. I´m a sucker for romance.. and seeing her in her wedding dress and exchanging wows with her love just made me so glad that I had gotten home in time to be there with them on their special day!

Yes it really has been so wonderful to be back home! Even my sister is back home from France with here little baby boy Tristan who´s only 1 and a half and I havn´t seen since he was 1! They´re even living here with my parents as well so for the first time in a while the whole family is all under one roof! O it´s been SO much fun being home again! I have barely had time to sleep cause I´m so busy trying to do everything I´ve missed doing for the last 25 days while I was away! so many things to do and so many people to meet! and everybody SO happy to have me back which has kept a smile on my face ever since I got back! hehe.. what can I say.. it´s good to love and be loved!

So yeah I just wanted you guys to know what was going on with me.. especially the once who live so far away from me (the UK, the states, Costa Rica, New Zealand or where ever) and I´m not going to be meeting in the next few days!

Wow it feels like it's been ages since I last posted here but I guess it's just that so much has happened!

The last day in Amsterdam turned out to be really great! I really like Amsterdam! truly!
I met some really cool people while I was doing my laundry that afternoon.. these three guys, one girl and me started talking about politics and the world issues and stuff (sounds boring but it really wasn't!) while we were waiting and they turned out to be this really awesome people! well maybe not the girl cause she left but the three guys were awesome!
Later that night me and Viktor went down to the bar cause Viktor wanted a beer and I wanted to get something to eat and I saw one of the guys who was talking to me earlier and invited him to join us.. he came along and he is so nice! he's from Brazil (but lives in Florida for now) so me and you Hjordis are going to sleep at his place when we go to Rio! He insited!
Ok so yeah we were sitting there talking and suddenly the people at the next table joined in our conversation.. there were three of them.. all from England.. so there we are all 6 of us talking when the two other guys from the laundry room turn up and sat down with us.. it was so amazing! There we were; one Icelander (VIktor decided to leave), Felipe from Brazil, Paul from Manchester, John from The netherlands/Canada, Helen from Hastings, Chris from Newcastle, Rob and his girlfriend from the southcoast of England (can't remember where from) and everyone just met a few hours ago and everyone getting along SO well! Amazing!
I ended up going out with them that night! even though I had an early flight the next morning! they really wanted me to join them and I'm so glad I did! I had such a great time!
It's really amazing how well you can get along with people you've just met and how much fun you can have with them! and I wasn't even drinking for that matter!
hehe.. yeah that truly was a great night!

I ended up getting a 3 hour sleep that night and then having to get up to take the train to the airport to catch our flight to London.. ohh yeah I really liked the airline! I recommend easyjet.com to anyone wanting to fly cheap around Europe! It was even cheaper than taking a bus or a train!

So anyway we flew from Amsterdam to London Stansted and from there to Bologna! It was really strange to think that I had spent the morning in the Netherlands, had lunch in England and then spent the afternoon in Italy! We are so lucky to be living now and being able to do this! we really are!

So yeah we arrived in Bologna about 3 pm but then we had this really bright idea of walking to the hostel that we were staying at.. bad BAD idea.. we ened up walking for 7 hours, having to climb a mountain and crawling through fences.. it was horrible! hehe.. ok I exaturating (do you write this like this..? ykja? hmm.. not sure) a bit here.. but we did have to walk for like almost 2 and a half hour, climb a "hill" and the fences part was true! but we were so happy just to get to the hostel in the end that either of us didn't mind! plus the hostel was really nice! even though it was way out in nowhere!

So yeah we're in Italy now!!!

we spent yesterday in Bologna mainly next to this beautiful fountain cause it was SO hot and then we took the train to Florenze and spent the night here! We'll be here the next two nights as well so we're just really enjoying ourselves at the moment!
We're going to explore a bit of Florenze after this blogging and just enjoy being here!
I just can't believe it! I've wanted to go here for such a long time and now that I'm here I really just can't believe it! And to think of what I might have been doing now if I would have stayed in Iceland! no thanks.. this is much better!

Oh yeah you know what we saw last night!!! BATS!!!!!! It was amazing!!!!! (ok I know everything is amazing with me right now so bare with me) We were just sitting outside eating dinner when I saw these "birds" fly like 2 or 3 meters away from us.. they were flying really wierd so I figured they couldn't be birds but they were too big to be butterflies and then I realised: they were bats!!! soooooo cool!!!! like way!!!! :o)
one more animal to add to the list of new animals we've seen so far!

Yes I think this will be all for now! I should wrab this up.. I want to go out in the sun and see more of this beautiful city before the heat gets too much!

Hey everybody!
What's up?
So we're back in Amsterdam again..
We stayed at Siggi's place in Arnhem for another night but then he just throw us out on the street.. can you imagine that? not? well maybe because he didn't.. hehe.. no there was just a misunderstanding between mr. and mrs. nursepunk and because of that we decided to get out of their way.. I have enough on my mind than to be in the middle of or worse the cause of some tiny lovers argument.. So we decided after thinking it through to just spend two more nights here in amsterdam before we go off to Italy!

It was really too bad though about the whole thing with Siggi and Manon (mr. and mrs. nursepunk) cause I was really looking forward to hanging out with them, getting to know Manon better and being able to hangout with Siggi but I guess it will just have to wait a better time!

So yeah we're back in Amsterdam.. this city is really starting to grow on me.. I mean I liked it when we first got here but it was still just a city I would visit once and no more but now I can really see myself coming here again! strange..

It's been raining today so we've just been doing laundry and planing our trip to Italy better and I'vc been thinking about what I'll do after Viktor leaves for Iceland again.. I have some ideas and most of them seem to be working out so hopefully.. but I wont say anything here yet.. you'll just find out :o)

OMG! I can't believe that by this time tomorrow I'll be in Italy and the day after that I'll be in Florence! It's been a dream of mine to go there since I can't remember! I now I'm just a couple of days from fulfilling that dream! Wow! and to think only 3 weeks ago I was stuck in Iceland and feeling horrible about everything and now here I am! still getting on my feet again but at least I'm doing something like this while I'm at it!

Well I should get going.. me and Viktor are going to enjoy the city for one last time (for now) today and maybe going to this vegetarian restaurant we were told about earlier.. that'll be great!

I want you to know that I'm thinking of you and I miss you loads! I also want to say thanks for keeping in touch by emailing me or messaging me or just leaving a comment here! it means so much to me!

Well we're still in the Netherlands.. but we've moved from Amsterdam to Arnhem.. an old punk friend of ours Siggi punknurse is living here with his girlfriend and they have been kind enough to take us in for now. I'm not sure how long we'll be staying here since I really hate forcing myself upon people like this! I guess we'll just see.. the only thing certain for now is that we have plantickets from Amsterdam on the 5th of July to London and the same day from London to Italy!
Yay Italy! I can't wait to go there.. we're flying to Bologna but I really want to see Florence so we're just going to head over there as soon as possible! mmm.. Florence.. that'll be sweet!

but for now it's the Netherlands..

Amsterdam was greater than I thought it would be!
We stayed in a hostel the first night but the second night (yeah we decided in the end to stay for another night there) we stayed in this hotel (the heart of amsterdam) cause the hostels were full.. it was really crappy but we didn't mind cause we managed to get the price down to almost the same price we were paying at the hostel.. hehe.. :o)

I was really happy about the 2 days we spent in amsterdam.. I managed to do all the things I wanted to do there: we rode on the tram, sailed on the canals and of course saw the red light district! It was very wierd seeing the district! I mean I heard a lot about it from friends who'd been there but it was so wierd seeing it with your very own eyes! Girls in all the windows and men outside getting the drunks to visit "their" women.. so wierd.. plus our hotel was almost in the middle of the district so we saw all the "action" just out our window.. very strange!

Then yesterday we decided to be more cultural and we to the riksmusem (the national musem).. we got in free cause we lied we were both under 18.. hehe.. :o) then we spent the rest of the day in a park there called Vondelpark.. it was really nice and we both fell asleep for a few minutes in the sun!
I heard it was just raining all the time in Iceland.. is that true? I hope so.. hehe.. nahh just kidding ;o)

Ok so Siggi just told us we would be staying with a friend of his for the next couple of nights.. she lives close by so tonight we'll move our stuff there.. then I guess we'll stay here until Monday and then get back to amsterdam so we'll be close by the airport for our flight the next day..
I better email the hostel and check if they have room for us on Monday night..
I'll leave this like this for now.. I'm a little bit tierd so I think today will just be spent hanging around Siggi's place and chilling..
I hope you guys are having fun in Iceland and where ever you are!

Hey you guys! Guess where I am? nahh.. you'll never guess..
I'm in Amsterdam! Yay!
We found a bus that went from Denmark through Germany and to Amsterdam so we spent all yesterday on that bloody bus! It took like 12 hours but we finally got here at 8 a clock last night! FINALLY! ..but then it took us like 3 hours to find the hostel we were looking for! hehehe.. but we did in the end! and the funny part is that we ended up finding another hostel then the one we were looking for! We ended up finding the hostel I thought be too hard to find! imanaging that! I'm so clever.. well you know.. ahh whatever..

So anywho we're spending the day here and after that we don't really know.. we might end up just going to Siggi Punk and mrs. nursepunk tonight.. They live in Arnhem and we wanted to stay there for a few days! but for now we're just going to walk around Amsterdam and see the sights.. not sure what that'll be but we'll see..

Anyway just wanted to say I'm ok and that I arrived save and sound at my next location.. I'll try and answer your emails as soon as possible but for now this will just have to do!

Ok this is going to be a short one since I really have to wake up Siggi soon so we can get our asses down town and meet up with Fannar and Viktor..
This week in Köben has been so extremly great and beyond all expetations that i just don´t believe it! I´ve had such a good time hanging out with Siggi everyday, seeing more of Köben, hanging out with the thrashmaster, Viktor and Helga, checking out K-town and just being here! I never thought I´d like this city this much but I do! I am so definatly coming back here again! That´s 4 sure! :o)

Yeah b.t.w. I tried to post some pictures here the other day but it didn´t work.. I´m going to see if I can figure something out before I leave Denmark.. maybe I´ll just put up another site for the pics.. well I´ll let you know..

Ohh man I better get going.. maybe I´ll just finish this tonight and post it then..

So my day ended up being really good! Me and Siggi met up with Fannar and Viktor down town and we (well I did) helped Siggi buy some presents for his nieces and friends back in Iceland.. he´s leaving tomorrow for Iceland and staying there for the next two months.. it´s going to be so hard saying goodbye to him! :o( It´s been so awesome being able to hangout everyday again! I´m going to miss him but hopefully I´ll be back to hangout with him in Iceland before he heads back for Denmark in September.. well we´ll see..
At least I got to hangout here with him! Hehe.. he´s taking his exam tomorrow and he´s relaly nervous about that so he keeps coming and talking to me while I´m writing this.. hehe.. God he´s so amazing and I´m so happy to have him as a friend! And yeah I know.. I´m way too emo!

O I saw the coolest thing the other day! It was the last day at K-town and they had this thing called bike wars.. that´s bunch of people driving their built bikes into each other and trying to ruin the other bikes! It was so AWEsome! I took bunch of pics so I´ll have to show you guys when I get back! OMG it was way cool!!!

Other than that we´ve just been enjoying the crazy good weather and hanging out a lot! Helga left on Sunday so it´s just been the four of us and tomorrow Siggi leaves and Fannar too.. o man.. The Thrashmaster (Fannar) is also leaving tomorrow.. I´d forgotten that.. I´m going to miss him too! I can´t wait to have the next Ninja hangout in September and continue teaching him how to cook! Hehe.. I´m telling you guys this guy is one of the most awesome person I´ve ever met in my life! Hanging with him here in Denmark has been way too great! Ok god I´m being emo again.. stop it..

So yeah soon it´ll just be me and Viktor.. but that´s ok cause I know we´ll have a kickass time together.. we´re going tomorrow to see if we can´t find the cheapest way to get from here to Amsterdam.. and yes that is our next destination.. I´ll stay with Siggi tonight and then tomorrow both me and Viktor will stay with Viktor´s sister Dögg and then hopefully we´ll be on our way to Amsterdam on Wednesday.. we´ll find out tomorrow..

But yeah so that´s about it for now.. can´t remember anything else I could write about now.. I´m a little tierd now and I should go pack my backpack before I go to sleep..

Ok so I realised after getting a very concerning email from a close friend that I forgot to say in my first blog what my first destination was.. sorry about that.. didn´t mean to make you worry..
Well so I´m in Denmark.. never been here before so this is all very exciting for me.. wanna hear what I´ve been up to? Well if not then just scroll through the next “few” lines :o)

So I ended up finishing packing an hour before I had to get up and get ready to go to the airport.. so I took a nap and then my mom and dad drove me and Helga (a super cool girl who´s been hanging with me in Denmark the whole time) to the airport.. it was really a surprise to me how cool my mom and dad were about my trip.. I knew they´d support me but I never thought they´d support me this much about going but they have! (Takk mamma og pabbi.. þið eigið aldrei eftir að geta ímyndað ykkur hvað stuðningur ykkar við þessa ferð mína skiptir mig miklu máli.. þið eruð algjört æði bæði tvö! Takk! Ég elska ykkur svo mikið!)

I have to say that it was really weird hanging at the concert in Miðberg the night before I left knowing I was leaving you guys but not being able to say proba goodbyes to you all.. but I still think this was the best way.. it strange though when I got home I realised I had been so busy making sure no one except the few people I told about my trip knew about me leaving that I hadn´t been able to orginize my packing (yeah I know what a surprice Hanna orginizing something! :op ) ..but it´s ok Helga is taking stuff back to Iceland with her so I´ll be able to get rid of some stuff before I head into Europe.. still I think I did a good job packing.. I only have a small backpack and my sleeping bag.. a very nice job I´d say!

Well on with the story.. me and Helga were both really tierd when we arrived at the airport but there was an hour to kill before boarding so we just talked and got to know each other better.. I was so tierd when we finally boarded but I tried my best to stay wake in the flight because Helga can´t sleep on planes so I wanted to keep her company.. I managed to do that for the first two hours.. we talked a lot and played cards and I won of course since I´ve been so unlucky in love lately but I fell asleep the last hour of the flight..
Siggi Té (he´s one of my bestest friend in the world) came and picked us up the airport.. we´re staying at his place while we´re here in Cobenhagen.. he´s been so nice showing us around and letting me and Helga sleep in his room (he´s on the sofa!)..
We spent the first day here just walking around and talking.. Siggi showed us Stroget (which is the shopping street here) not that we had any money to spend but it was just cool to see it.. we ended up at this cool veg reasturant and had dinner there.. then Viktor arrived with another flight later that evening and we met up with him at the trainstation..
Yeah just so you know Viktor is going to be my traveling mate! We´re going to travel through Europe together for the next month until he goes home.. then I don´t know what I´ll do.. but I guess I´ll find out later.. I´m not worried about that now :o)

Our second day here in Denmark we decided to crash Sweden! I also never been there so it seemed like a smart thing to do since this trip of mine is about doing stuff I haven´t done before and seeing and experiencing new things! So we took a train to Malmö and spent the day there.. it was so awesome! The weather was incredible and we all had the best time! I bought myself a Pippi Langstrom doll! A small one of course but it´s soo cool! Helga spent 9 years of her life in Sweden so she speaks fluent Swedish.. we walked around trying to find bookstores so she could stock up on Swedish literture..

Then yesterday me and Helga dragged Siggi to see the mermaid.. I think you HAVE to see the mermaid if you go to Cobenhagen.. it´s nothing special.. just a statue on a rock but we took a nice LONG walk getting there and since the weather was SO nice it didn´t matter.. plus I made 2000 icelandic kroners on the way back! Hehe.. we were all really tierd after the extremly long walk to the mermaid and on our walk back we came to these stars.. Siggi said he´d pay me 2000 Icelandic kroners to run up and down the stars 10 times and of course I took the bet even though I was really really tired! But I did it so Siggi paid for dinner and when we got back down town he paid for the tivoli as well! Yeah we went to the tivoli.. well just the three of us (me, Siggi and Helga).. Viktor and Fannar thrashmaster (who arrived yesterday) went to K-town (a crust/punk festival in town).. but you know what I did!?! I went on a roller coaster!!! I never been on one before so I was really proud of me! I even went on all three roller coasters that are in the tivoli! Yay me! One more thing I can say I´ve done! Yeah the tivoli was really cool.. we went on tons of rides and Helga got her candy floss in the end :o)

We have no major plans for today.. the weather´s still good so we´re thinking about going on a picknick in the cemetary.. Siggi has to study for his exam so we want to get out of his way.. it´ll be nice to just chill today since I pretty tierd of all the walking these last three days!

But yeah so here you have it! This is what I´ve been up to since I ran away from Iceland! Well I didn´t really run.. just flew.. I mean like my friend said in an email I got from him “don´t listen to people when they say that you´re running away from your problems.. this takes courage!” (takk Gussi!) ..I´m actually really proud of myself.. this trip is turning out to be one of the best things I´ve ever done in my life! And I´ve only just started! I have so much more to see and experience! I´m really happy about my decision.. you know I´m just really happy for the first time in a long time! I think this is the best thing I could´ve done in the situation I was in!

God this is probably the longest blog I´ll write the whole time I´m here! Shit.. I didn´t realise how long it is.. well if you read it all.. congrats :o)

I miss you all so much though.. hope you all are having at least half as much fun as I am! I think about you all of the time and of the day when we´ll met again.. until then please don´t stop emailing me! I really love hearing what you´re up to!

ok so here goes.. my first post on my travel blog.. it´s a little strange to be doing this now since I´m not leaving until tomorrow.. well acctually I´m leaving in just a few hours.. wow.. I should be packing.. but anyway I wanted to post one "before post" here..
..and yes you probably guessed by now what this whole email and blog thing is..

..wow I still kinda can´t believe that I´m really doing this.. it´s really unlike me.. Quitting my job with a weeks notice and getting on a plan to a country without really knowing what I´m going to do or see or where I´ll stay or be.. or just nothing.. I have no clue.. I´m just going to go with the flow and see what I want to see and do what I want to do..
I´m pretty sure nobody excepted me to do anything like this.. but I guess that´s the beauty of it.. I need a change and what better way than to do something that´s completly new and exciting!

I also want start this blog writing of mine and say sorry to the people that I didn´t tell about my plans.. I decided on this in a hurry.. I mean I only made up my mind about going 6 days ago so when I say it was decided in a hurry.. it really WAS decided in a hurry.. but I want you to know that it was never my intension to hurt anybody so if any of you that are reading this found out about my trip through the email I sent to you guys with the address to this blog or worse through someone else and are feeling hurt by me not telling you..

Know that I never wanted to hurt anybody and also know that I had my reasons.. It is just so much easier for me to do this whole thing like this!
You all should know how hard it´s been for me these last weeks.. I really need the change.. everything was just getting a little bit to much for me and I really need to get away.. I´m so tierd of feeling hurt and of crying.. I need to get my head together and figure out a way through all of this..

I´m gonna miss all of you guys SO much!
